August 2020 Update
Hello everyone and happy weekend!
Well, what a busy month it has been! As well as taking on FIVE new pups, we’ve had almost everyone join back to Katie & Co walks and I couldn’t be happier! I really wasn’t sure how we would recover after lockdown and although we aren’t out of the woods just yet, I’m hoping we don’t have to close again with a second wave!
Hot Weather Protocol
We’ve been having a lot of crazy heatwaves at the moment so I thought I should create a new ‘hot weather protocol’ as the one in my terms and conditions is quite vague.
In hot weather, we will always try to walk in shaded places with access to a river or lake if possible, that being said, I also try to keep van journeys as short as possible so I will usually try to balance between the two.
The van currently has one air fan but I am getting another installed in the next week or so. We also have cooling mats, however these are only safe for dogs who do not chew as the insides are toxic.
Swimming and paddling is encouraged, but not for long periods of time to avoid guzzling too much water and making them sick.
Fresh water is provided in bowls at the end of the walk.
I set off much earlier to try to get everyone walked before the peak of the heat.
Walks may be shortened if I feel any of the dogs are struggling or the heat is worse than expected.
If the weather forecast in our area is expected to be above 26 degrees, then you may cancel your walk with no charge, but please let me know before 5pm the day before. If you are at home that day, or only popping out for a few hours, I encourage you to cancel or reschedule your walk. Dogs do struggle to cope in these types of temperatures, and I would much rather they be at home in a paddling pool than bounding around with me!
If you will be out all day and cannot cancel, but are worried about your dog and would prefer them not to be walked in the morning, please get in touch with me and I will provide a visit in the afternoon instead.
Holiday Date Reminders
There will be no walks from 14th September 2020 - 18th September 2020 (Family Wedding in Italy)
There will be no walks 12th October - 16th October 2020 (re-scheduled trip to Budapest!)
If you do need an alternative walker for these dates please let me know as soon as possible so I can recommend someone.

As of August 17th, we will back running to normal walks again Monday to Friday and the below rota is when everyone is walked (if I’ve missed anyone let me know!):-
