Katie & Co's Guide to Posing with Pets

Whether it’s your wedding, engagement or just a family photoshoot, use this quick and easy posing guide to capture fun and unique pictures with your dog.

  1. The ‘Kiss’ - This can be a kiss with your significant other, your dog, or all three of you! Just make sure your dog is comfortable receiving a kiss - the last thing you want is a bite to the face!

  2. The ‘Carry’ - Pretty self explanatory, perfect for smaller dogs who need a little lift! Don’t forget to make sure your pup has clean paws beforehand. (That’s one of my jobs if I’m there!).

  3. The ‘Run Free’ - So long as your dog has effective recall, this is a fun and different way of enjoying your photoshoot. Perfect for family photoshoots, and bohemian or beach weddings.

  4. The ‘Lookout’ - Ideal for sunrise & sunset. This pose captures that ‘happily ever after’ feeling in one shot.

  5. The ‘Getaway’ - It took me ages to find any pictures for this fun and original posing idea! Simply use your wedding vehicle as a prop to sit in, lean on, or drive off in!

  6. The ‘Pupcake’ - Well if you’re having cake, shouldn’t your dog too? If you’d like a shot like this, Katie & Co can provide a dog friendly pupcake for your dog to enjoy on the day!

  7. The ‘Aisle Shot’ - Dogs walking down the aisle with me, a member of the wedding party, or even the bride! If you have a little faith, they could even walk (or run) themselves down the aisle!

  8. The ‘Over the Shoulder’ - a variation of ‘The Carry’, perfect for showing off the back of your bridal gown or hair style. Remember to clean paws beforehand!

  9. The ‘Family Pawtrait’ - The traditional family portrait. Perfect for framing and putting on the fireplace.

  10. The ‘Ring Bearer’ - Is your dog carrying your wedding rings? Make sure you get a close up snap of that detail!

  11. The ‘Fashionista’ - Don’t forget to consider what your pooch will wear on your special day. Bow tie? Flower Crown? Bandana?

  12. The ‘In Focus’ - Have your dog sit up front close to the camera whilst you pose blurred out in the background. Give your dog their time to shine!
